Has anyone done this? Will it melt the floatation foam and if so how to treat it before using polyester resin? I have replaced my stringers and want to fiberglass over the the whole floor before putting the floor back down. Any help would be great

It will not melt the foam. Resin by itself will simply crack. Resin needs cloth

Yeah I am fiberglassing it but wanted to be sure it wouldn’t melt the floatation foam that is there.

I have always heard that polyester resin will generally melt foam, except for certain kinds of foam. I think you should try a sample.

Epoxy resin will not melt foam.

styrene foams (aka styrofoam) is what poly resins like to melt. Urethane foams are fine for poly resins.
