But I bet if I wanted to anchor up next to you I'd be welcome (I promise to keep my shirt on, lol).

Always welcome...if you don't mind a barking dog and all nite generator. Maybe that's why we're always alone?

hum....

guess i fig. when i pull up on a public beach. people being next to me is gonna happen. i've seen boats beached so close together ya can hardly walk in between them (lake maconoghy, july 4 some year). pretty likely someone will touch my boat. if i don't like to be so close to other folks, guess i'll go boat elsewhere. i can control me, i can't control others.

i have to tottally agree, there is etiquette to boating. i stay as far away from fishermen as possible and try to keep the boat and wake away from towables. i really dont mind if some one has to touch my boat i make it shiny so its kind of hard to not look a it and touch it to see if its real :) that is kind of way i dont wan poeples dirty sweaty shirt sitting on the bow. about the cool comment WOW! who really opens a strangers cooler and grabs a beer like is theres that would totally anger me, i think id take my beer back pick up anchor and move.

yes the beach i was on is public but its not your typical beach. when poeple come in its like there on your driveway at home laying out.

heres a picture of the beach ignore me on the tube, beach is the top left corner taken about 5 years ago.

Man I hate it when some ropadope pulls a tube by my beached shiny boat and rocks it on the sand, potentially scratching up the finish.

Just kidding.

Thats the point, if he had asked, no problem, but he didn't and if you or I needed to do it we probably wouldn't do it unless we asked.

As for the beer, I'd shoot him.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Taking a beer is not a felony! You would go to prison in every state.

Can top that one!

Had a guy open my cooler and help himself to a beer... Right in front of me! I asked him very politely what in the sam hell did he think he was doing? His response, and I quote "You didn't bring these to share"?

I'd have asked him what did he bring to "share"?... and when he said nothing, I'd have told him that would make him a mooch and he needed to go mooch somewhere else.

What's the best way to clean beer out of a keyboard?

Really Eddie? I never knew that.........I do believe I was joking my friend.

Sw33tooth, you are absolutely right 100%.
I'd never do it or expect it to be done to me. Period.;)

I'm off to another thread as there are too many uptight people here.:(

If there's folks like that around, we just pull anchor and be gone!...plenty of nice quiet spots away from drunks,fools,whatevers!....

Well I guess there is another topic that always turns into the same old mess with no real solution. There's What oil is best, how to deal with ethanol, and now....

Any thread where someone was put into a bad situation because someone else was an ahole. Honestly I can think of at least a half dozen other threads that started out the same and ended up the same as this thread (Jet ski threads, person cut in front of me fishing, launch line issues).

Jet ski theif shot dead is another good example.

It truly amazes me how many of our members want to pull out guns on people.

Re: poeple putting stuff on your boat at a beach?

I generally park far from others. When they zig, I zag. When people are on the sandbar or tied up, that is generally exactly the opposite of what I want to do since i'm boating for quiet not to hang around a bunch of drunks. I also would never beach my boat but only moor it bow out. He wouldn't have been able to reach the top of your cuddy if that was the case. If I were in your situation however, I'd have taken his stuff and placed it on the sand no harm no foul. Just part of dealing with the public. As for the guy reaching in for one of my not-to-be-shared beverages, that would be a problem but again, the more I live the more I realize people are weird. I have come to realize why so few people are successful in life by their everyday actions.
