is this a normal price ? the mechanic charged me $1550 to do water pump, put a used lower unit, change the reverse cable set on a 1987 force 125. plz apply asap

Does this include parts?
Was the lower unit new, used, rebuilt?

I can see $400-$500 in labor alone.
Parts could be $800-$1500.

What is "the reverse cable set" ?

i think its rebuilt. and i dont know about the cable.

i wouldnt have paid that. I mean that engine isnt even worth that!!! I have a force 1996 75hp and blue book is like $800 or so....If i ever have to do any repairs over that, the ol force is hitting the ROAD!!!! Just my opinion.
