Re: Please help I Need help Identifying.

Welcome aboard JF,

Nice boat. Looks reasonably stout, and looks like a lot of Aluminum boats of that size. Maybe a Sea Nymph, but one question I always have is why do you care? What will you do with this information once you have it? It's not like there are any parts that would be exclusive. That thing needs a motor and she should be ready to go.

I would Like to know as far as Maximum weight and HP,
and Ideally I would love to restore it back to Factory "looks" for lack of a better word! Maybe try to locate a Brochure ect.

I do Have a little '71 9.5 HP Johnson and the boats sitting on a TEE NEE trailer which is kind of neat.

I have a late '60s or early '70s Sea Nymph 14R. It looks similar in terms of size and beam, but the construction looks rather different. Mine is rated at 25hp max. It is supposed to weigh about 175 pounds empty, but I've never seen anything about it's capacity.

You shouldn't need the Make, Model and Year or a capacity plate to calculate Max. Weight and HP:

http://www.boatingbasicsonline.com/content/general/3_7.php

Keep in mind that capacity in people is based on teh average adult weighing 150lbs. It is typically safer and more accurate to calculate total weight of occupants. Keep in mind, total weight also includes the weight of the motor and gear.

We understand, but knowing just doesn't change the job with boats. Trust us. We can help, but all manufacturers use the same stuff, and a tinny like that it's even less important. Not bagging on it, there's just nothing to know that the manufacturer will tell you . . . ;)

It doesn't look much like and Starcraft I've ever seen... that raised bow platform is different.... does it look original do you think?

Re: Please help I Need help Identifying.

I am talking the exact Transom, Style, Lines and measurements.

It was surprising to me, not sure on the year but it matched up to the pictures to a Tee. its a Gutted out 1957 Starcraft Ski Champ..

As for the Bow cap I chalk it up to it being gutted out completely.
And the Bench seats in it now where made and installed at some point but not original at all.
