I got a 1989 Suzuki dt85 85hp engine. Powerhead was toast. Bought a new one.... possible different year but everything seemed to fit. Hooked it up and now there are some wiring components in the wire harness that don't have anywhere to hook up to. Power tilt works. The throttle box now makes a continuous noise that wont stop that wasn't there when the other power head was attached. When I turn the key.... absolutely nothing happens..... at least with the other Powerhead... the starter would kick off.

The overheat warning buzzer is sounding.----Wiring needs to be reviewed.

Here is an engine manual. I'm not so sure about Seloc. I would look for an original duplicate if possible. Others will chime in. The wiring diagrams alone are worth their weight in gold.
Whatever engine you sail with you will need a good manual.
Thanks! I was able to fins a service manual free download. Hopefully that can help. I have no idea though how to read a wiring diagram.

Ha ha...by the end of your project you will! Try to have all related wiring diagrams in COLOR. Ea. colored wire has a specific purpose.

So I had a few minutes to tinker with the engine noise last night. Turns out that the constant noise must have been a low oil alarm. I added some oil to the engine and the noise stopped. Still haven't been able to get the time to tinker with the starter too much. I was kind of hoping that the low oil alarm was a failsafe that also kept the engine from starting....but still nothing happened when I cranked the key after reconnecting the starter
