Ok, i have asked everyone I know around that is good with boats and no one can tell me anything. I have a mercruiser 5.7 with thunderbolt V ignition system. The boat was starting up pretty good and running until it got up to temp and tben it wouldn't start. I changed distributor cap rotor button, plugs, and I put a new coil on there after I seen it looked horrible but none of this has helped. It actually got worse. Now it will crank and u can make a little loop and come back to dock and it will quit when u bring throttle back to neutral. It's seems to be flooding because u can start it if u hold throttle down all the way. And there is a strong smell of gas coming. I took carb apart and cleaned float and everything. Should my next step be to have the carb rebuilt or is there something I'm missing. Also I have a 21 pitch prop. Whwat rpm should boat run wide open. Thanks for all the help in advance.
