Please be safe and don't forget to use your venting blower when fueling.

Better yet install a gas vapor detector and inspect your entire fuel system each year! Always sniff before flipping on the blower! Your nose is more sensitive than a gas vapor detector

Actually, the recommended USCG fueling procedure is to close all compartments and turn all electronics and blowers off. Next, fuel up. Now turn the blowers on and let them run for a few minutes. Sniff the air from the bilge before starting the engine.

How does your nose reach the bottom of the boat ? Gasoline fumes are heavier than air. Do the USCG way.

Gee, you stick your nose on the air outlet from the blower. It is usually one of the gratings on the side of the boat near the stern.

I described the USCG recommended procedure. Look it up if you do not believe me.

The thing to remember is that it isn't the liquid gasoline that burns so spectacularly, it's the fumes. Gas vapor mixed with air only needs a spark. When filling up your tank, you are pushing out those vapors to make room for the liquid. Be sure they are not filling up a void space on your boat.

Gas vapors plus air plus a spark(heat) creates the fire triangle. Fuel + Oxygen + heat. equals fire...
