Better yet install a gas vapor detector and inspect your entire fuel system each year! Always sniff before flipping on the blower! Your nose is more sensitive than a gas vapor detector

Actually, the recommended USCG fueling procedure is to close all compartments and turn all electronics and blowers off. Next, fuel up. Now turn the blowers on and let them run for a few minutes. Sniff the air from the bilge before starting the engine.

How does your nose reach the bottom of the boat ? Gasoline fumes are heavier than air. Do the USCG way.

Gee, you stick your nose on the air outlet from the blower. It is usually one of the gratings on the side of the boat near the stern.

I described the USCG recommended procedure. Look it up if you do not believe me.

No matter what power you use, if fuel is used take the necessary precautions and safety steps or suffer the consequences !! No matter how hard we try, we will never fix stupid !!
