I have a 1978 Evinrude 115 hp on an Arrowglass hull. It starts and runs good. It has 118 psi compression on all cylinders, the carburetor butterflies open like their supposed to. The timing advance is working like it's supposed to. At trolling speed it fine. At full throttle it will raise up but won't plane out. Help!!!!!

Try pumping the primer ball on the fuel line or hitting the choke when that happens.

Does it have good spark to all cylinders? By good, I mean, can it jump a 3/8" gap? Are the plugs good, if a gapped plug, is the gap correct?
How big is the boat, and what prop is on the engine?
How long have you had this boat?

I am going to check the spark from the coil and the spark plugs later. It's a 17 ft. Arrowglass fun/fish. The prop is probably original and is not in good condition, but has been running about 35 to 42. I 've had the boat for a long time (15 years) it has been in a state of disrepair, but I have brought it back to very good condition.

When was the compression test done ?----!0 years ago or yesterday?----Changed any sparkplugs / wires recently ??----Do the 3/8" gap test on the spark.----The sparkplugs are not used to do that test.

42 would sound very good for a 17ft with a crank rated 115. Based on that I will assume you have a 17" prop. What rpms are/were you getting at WOT? Any chance you have a bunch of Water logged Foam under the floor?

The compression test was done this a.m. The boat has always performed very well. No waterlogged foam. Tach is not working at this time.

Was Stabilizer added to the fuel before storage? Is fuel getting to both carbs? Are the carbs clean internally?

Both of these should be made in new threads in the correct sections.
