Re: Pics of where you work

Did a Google search on Brinks images and had 13,500 hits. Clancy, call in the paddy wagon and round up all the usual suspects!! :p

In the 80's I worked for a company that had a cash payroll delivered by Brinks every other Thursday for 250 employees. Whenever there was a new guy delivering, I always would say " hey man, NICE truck, can I take it for a spin?" The older dudes laughed, and younger guys got all Rambo about it.

Oh ok. Yeah, the KA is only certified up to FL350 if it gets RVSM certification.

sometimes I work the sector below, FL270-350 and you'll see a couple, violating the alitude/speed rule we always joke, same goes for most of the citation 2's you guys can darn near pass :p

The bonanza I rent occasionally lives in a hanger "under" a BE200, things are massive to walk around. I'll take a beech any day though, well except for a BE400

I saw a like thread on another forum & thought it'd be interesting to see where you guys work on my favorite site.

I've been managing movie theatres for over half my life. Recently transferred to this location & love it...

Re: Pics of where you work

Cool seeing everyone's pictures. I'd share mine but photos are not allowed.

There are 6 guys in my department and we have one end of the building to ourselves. We all have L-shaped desk units that form semi-private cubes. Nice Aeron chairs to sit in if you're familiar with those. I keep my desk very neat... There's a nice 24" monitor, keyboard, mouse, docking station for my mouse, phone and one picture. That's about it. It's a very comfortable and quiet work environment.

Occasionally I work at the data center when I have to put my hands on something. Imagine a glass encased room with several rows of black IBM server cabinets and various other network hardware and cables. It's not very exciting to look at, but it's nice and cool in there.

I did not think it was right to post our pics of our trip to "Wells Grey park" here, so I posted them up in the destination post place.
lots of pics of waterfalls that ate their way through the volcanic rock, but could not find the pics of Mahood lake, thats breath taking!!!

Yeah, the old guys are kinda numb to those kind of silly comments, cause they get them every day. They know most people just don't think about how un-informed comments like "got any money you want to share" are. The younger guys get annoyed, because they think people should be smarter.

Re: Pics of where you work

That's a great read, and makes perfect sense, for the most part.

However this statement here is DEFINATELY legitimate in the case of armed transport of US currency:

"Most confrontations are started by
security guards and employees of
organizations who fear photography.
The most common reason given is
security but often such persons have
no articulated reason. Security is
rarely a legitimate reason for restricting
photography"

You may try to argue that, but there is NO legitimate reason to be photographing an armed guard doing his job, unless you intend to rob him. You guys are probably right about taking pictures in public of the truck, I'll concede that , but you start watching, photoing, and videoing the messenger as he gets out of the truck, and the game changes.
That's all I'll say about this.
Maybe I'll find some pictures of the exterior of the trucks, that Brinks does allow to be shown. But big deal, you've all seen them before. And you've all been inside a bank lobby too. Have a nice day.

your argument above says nothing about it being illegal only that confrontation is started by security officers who fear photography.

Re: Pics of where you work

I work all sorts of places. Nuke plants, bridges, currently I am on a re-hab job at lock and dam 13 on the Mississippi, near Fulton Il.

I am not allowed to snap pics while Im nuking, and I never think to take a camera when on other jobs. Prolly get my butt in a sling if I get caught snapping pictures instead of working..........lol

Such is life for a carpenter, I may have 5 different work sites in a year with 5 different contractors doing 5 different kinds of carpentry!!!

This is one of the projects we were on a couple years ago. This community had finally got power in, in the form of a big generator. They had a microwave shot into the village, and we built the telecom infrastructure.

This is the Nemaiah Valley

This is us heading home, the bridge is over the Fraser River heading to Williams Lake, (Puddle Jumper should recognize this real well!)

RBH, thanks for the pics. I drive across that bridge every year heading to Redstone for bear camp. The area is beautiful. I'll be heading up there in just about 30 days:D:D

Long drive from Virginia!
