Re: People into rap (rant)
Music is a very personal thing, Pony. I understand your being a bit miffed by the "generalisation", but i also understand the resentment that spurred it. I happen to like any music that moves me emotionally. To me, that is the 'be-all/end-all' to what defines "good music".
I happen to like very little (but some} rap and R&B, but what i do like accross the format board, i listen to at a volume level sufficiant for my own enjoyment.
What ANGERS me to the point of agreement in total with 18Rabit.....The technique used for personal enjkoyment of rap seems to be at a voliume level sufficiant to rattle the china cabinet in my living room, or the rearview mirror from the windshield of my truck to end-up in my lap!

I happen to really like traditional music from the British Isles. I like it a whole lot. It moves me --- but i do not force the car next to me to listen to it also!
When rap listeners respect my little piece of space within the confines of my own truck cab, i will respect theirs. In the meantime, i can kick-in the Leese-Nevile alternator and the 2kw Jensen amp, and crank the "The Chieftains" enough to overwhelm their intrusions. But do not get the impression that i'm thrilled to have to do that! And also, do not get the impression that i can respect anyone who insists i listen to their crap.
