I have a 35hp 1988 force model 357y8b ,I was going to replace the stator and ignition coils ,most sites I have looked at say not availible at this time, is there after market stuff availible for this engine?
try standard magneto (out of detroit?). way long time back they used to carry force stators for a fraction of mercury pricing.
Also try Sea-way marine. They were liquidating entire N.O.S. Force stator/trigger/CDI/coils subassembly for around $125. Don't know if it fits your engine, but at that price it is worth looking into and maybe even giving them a phone call.
