Parts Left Over LOL

Ok PARTS LEFT OVER lol

I am replacing an old 60's or 70’S Evinrude 75hp outboard motor with a 2003 Mercury 40hp EFI 4 stroke outboard.
As I was cleaning up I found this extra part. Not sure what it is or which motor it goes to.
Can anyone confirm which motor it goes on or what it is?

It looks like a warning buzzer.
Maybe for overheat or oil tank level?

I doubt it is from a 60s 75hp, which leaves the 70s 75 and a newer Merc
Did you take the control boxes of either Engine apart?
