part ID help

hey all I am trying to ID a part on a 72 Fiberform 24ft it has a threaded rod coming up below the galley with 2 wires through it. Any Ideas?

thanks for the welcome

and no pictues as I couldn't get the camera down in the access hole under the galley I only know i can feel a threaded rod about 3/4in around with a wire coming up through it with 2 wires a red and a green

you are right hadter seeing it I guess it is a transducer how can I go about checking it to see if it is good?

It's a transducer for a depth sounder.

No, not really. Especially being covered by paint like yours is.

just wanted to check as we are getting read to strip the hull for paint oh and that was how she came was just hoping to put it to use as I don't plan on removing it since it doesn't leak.
