hello all, acquired a 79 rinkerbuilt trihull with a pamco trailer. my question is the gvwr and gawr are missing. I can readthe serial number and model but I'm not sure how much weight this trailer holds. Serial # 27318 model # boat trailer/ 900. I'm assuming it will hold more than 900lbs and has nothing to do with the model #. I've searched the internet and can't find any information on it. the boat I'm sure is at least 1200lbs with motor. I would just hate to have an accident and have the blame put on me cause the trailer was over loaded. any help would be greatly appreciated

If the company is out of business, which after searching it looks like they are, it could be difficult to answer the questions you are asking without taking it to a trailer manufacture and have them look and make some estimates. If you are really concerned, you could change springs as well as check tires and rims to make sure they are up to the task you want to do..

You did not mention, is a single axle, twin axle? How many leafs in the spring packs, type of frame material, Tube, C-channel, I beam, round tube? How much is the couple rated for and does it look like the original? Take a picture if you can and post it.

Are you in a state that lists weight ratings on titles or registration? Where I live, they have the original weight rating on the title and the registration.

You might also get a hold of Rinker and see what they have to say, like boat weight and what trailers they were using back then, Rinker is one of the oldest boat companies in America.

no title? registration? without registration (which all usually list GTW) I would guess you'd have to take it to a trailer inspector and establish limit.. if you live in a state where there's no rules, your good to go..

single axle, no brakes, 1 7/8 ball, steel square tubing, 480x12x4 tires, not sure how many leafs are in the spring pack have to go count.

the 4.80-8 tires I have on my smallest trailer are rated for 585 pounds each at 60 PSI. Thus, given the tires, the maximum that trailer could carry is 1170 [pounds. Given a trailer weight of 270 pounds, then the load carrying capacity would be 900 pounds. Actually, I would not be surprised to see that the trailer is rated at 900 pounds load including the trailer.

Well pamco has been out of business for well out over 20 to 25 years. the sticker on my trailer is still readable but I'm two hours away and two weeks from seeing it. but frank is pretty close.

Based on the 2 15 footers that NADA lists for Rinker, it weighs right around 700 pounds:

NADA only lists the Bass Boat and the Regent models

Like I said, have you got a hold of Rinker about your boat, they may still have all the specs on it, I know several of the boat manufactures have copies of the sales brochures.

No point is guessing.... Get the whole rig on a truck scale... Less than $10 and you'll know exactly what it all weighs.
