Re: Painting Question
you might consider contacting the auto shop instructor at local commcollege or even high school and see if they have a promising learner who'd like a side job...?
alternatively, you can buy a cheap HVLP gun at Da Fright for probably $40, a gallon of Rustoleum for maybe $65, and rent/borrow a compressor. remember that unless you "sweat the details" and work out all hull dents and dings first, you really don't need alll THAT perfect a paint job....paint it white or similar so they don't show, and have at it. you can fix most anything that goes wrong.
remember that if you do strip it, it needs to be primed within a day or less with zinc chromate primer or the bare alum will form al oxide and interfere with paint adhesion.....search for "zinc chromate" to see lots of discussion here on this.
there's also the "roll & tip" method where you roll paint on and then flatten bubbles left by rolling with a brush...also lots of discussion on this.
