Re: Paint Job!

you may want to ask this question in the restoration forum. Folks get boats painted all the time. Depending on quality of work expect anything from $1000 to $20,000 easy...

Re: Paint Job!

What kind of paint are you talking about? Bottom paint (anti-foulant) generally runs in the $15 per foot range. If you are talking 2-part finish paints, not anti-foulants, then you are in the $1000+ range

Re: Paint Job!

The guy that is redoing my stringers and deck said he would paint my boat for $225.00 a foot. He would remove everything from the hull, fix gouges and scrapes, prime and paint. $225.00 x 16= 3600.00

hey budd, check out my project, i am paying 1800 to 2200 for mine and i did all the prep work, i say 1800 to 22 cuz i told him if he see's anything i missed , that he go over it and hit it. At that point im paying him hourly. Id say if you hae a 16 footer your looking at 1800 without any prep work.

Re: Paint Job!

wished you lived close to me i would do it for 1000. if some one is charging you 1800 with no repairs to do thats crazy. the part that takes the longest is prep then you think you have everything and you prime it and oh boy where you wrong "MORE PREP" LOL. just remember anything you can see thru your primer you WILL see thru your paint. your boat shouldnt take more than a gal of paint and clear and thats about 400 max. and you can probably give it about 5 coats of paint and 3 of clear. heres my web sight if anyone wants some airbrushing done.
