Re: overheated my kicker
The compression won't be bad until the head gasket leaks, then it's got water in the cylinders and may scuff your cylinder walls. The exhaust cover can also warp and leak water into your ex ports, causing same results. It's not a hard job, and something you might put on order and replace as soon as possible. A figure 8 motion on a pane of glass with 400 grit sandpaper should flatten it out nicely. It may be fine, but those are 2 areas that fail a LOT on overheated motors. It would be an even better idea to check your plugs after each run out and look for beads of water or milkiness on the plugs. If so, fix 'em both and be done with it.

I know you are right, I will get the gaskets next time I place an order. I spend every day fixing other peoples vehicles, its a living:noidea:, I am terrible when it comes time to fix my own stuff:redface-new:. I was actually proud of myself for doing the stat, was so tempted to just go without one. heck I even changed the impellers and gear lube:faint2:, my tow rig has started leaking at the clutch slave and I just been topping off the fluid for the last 2 months, I will fix it but after the polar vortex goes away, but then I will want to be boating:juggle: and the wife wants the porch rebuilt into a sunroom, her car needs work, my mustang engine needs overhauled, my bike needs carb rebuilt, the 4 wheeler needs the same and its trans is acting up, trees need pruned, driveway needs sealed, the soffet, gutters, fence and deck needs sealed/stained, my 12' tinny is leaking, the pool will need started up, then the hot tub, then she wants me to install a new central air unit, and I just want to be on the river. I might just run away from home before the grass needs mowed
