I've heard this story and variations several times, I wouldn't call it a myth or urban legend because I'm sure it has happened.

If you want something done right, do it yourself or keep your mouth shut!

Ahhh, One of lifes very important lessons many seem to forget. :D

Very true too.
Explained to me by a bachelor friend, "If they didn't have one of those there would be a bounty on them."

Re: Overheard at the boat ramp!!!!

I grew up on a farm driving anything that moves and once turned around an RV (76 passenger school bus) with a small boat trailer on a residential street in the middle of the night. (Hubby, the professional truck drive whom I thought was asleep in the back just said "Nice job!" and went back to sleep.) I have also been know to back the same bus with a 21' trailer through an S-bend in one pass without hitting anything.

Say what you will - I will just ignore you!

Re: Overheard at the boat ramp!!!!

When we first got our boat the admiral told me right of the bat, I want to know how to do everything, " just in case". I grabbed some cones from work and we went to a local parking lot and practiced. We have our check list for loading and unloading. She can do it all, alot of the time she will do all of the driving and I get to sit back and relax. She managed a tricky backup at a local lake last year where you have to back off the road into the the ramp lot and down to the ramp through traffic, kids, boats and all. Got a good one here guys. Its called patience guys, sometimes it really pays off.

Re: Overheard at the boat ramp!!!!

Why on gods earth anyone would not want "her" to do this and more is beyond me. Anyone can learn anything, and for me it's one less thing to worry about. If she wants to and can, I say go for it. Driving or backing up isnt hard with a smidge of practice, makes my life so much easier. I train all my ladies to do it all, never know when you will be unable to perform any one of the many tasks while boating.

Anyone who thinks it's a bad idea, I would love to hear why?

Why????

Best post of the thread Tim.

I can't believe all the crap in this thread, if I ever catch some Dbag treating one of my 3 daughters like that they are going to have to deal with me.

I know my wife is uncomfortable backing the truck and trailer into the water, well backing it anywhere for that mater so she loads and unloads the boat and by God she is GREAT AT IT. My oldest daughter is nearly as good as I am backing trailers.....ok maybe she is better but allow me my delusions I'm in my mid 40's and I still have something of an ego. Women are the stronger sex, the only thing a man can do better then a woman is making a roll of toilet paper last longer then a week.
