Outdrive Replacement White Sealing Compound to Mounting Bolts

Volvo SX manual states to apply "White Sealing Compound" to the stud bolts.

No.
If you boat in salt water, use gasket sealer. If you’re mainly in fresh water don’t use anything.

You haven’t asked yet. But I’m guessing you will get to the pivot pins. Use only the recommended locking compound on them. Gets really expensive when a DIY guy skips that step and they come loose out on the water.
