outdrive primer paint

hello, I have some 2 part epoxy primer for automotive and wonder if this is acceptable to use on my bravo outdrive .

Aluminum requires a zinc chromate or acid etching primer. I'm not sure about epoxy. My suggestion would be to contact the manufacturer and see if it is compatible with aluminum.

Green zinc chromate primer on aluminum.I have also used yellow zinc phosphate primer on aluminum with good results. Never heard of using epoxy primer. Charlie

Epoxy primer works, I would etch prior to painting with vinegar.

Agreed epoxy primer Like PPG DP series is great for bare aluminum. Used it in automotive retso applications and has held up for decades
