Outboard oil in Alpha one drive

Hi,

I put the wrong oil (outboard oil) in my 2000 regal 2100LSR merc 4.3/alpha one sterndrive.

Can I keep this oil for the season? it will get about 20-30h this summer.

I wouldn't, list for under 75 HP.
Drive cost a bunch more then lube

Agreed Not worth the $20 of gear lube. The premium lube is not the same as the synthetic or synthetic blend Hi PErformance gear lube reccomended for Alpha gen 2 drives like yours.

Ayuh,.... Agreed,..... It's probably 80W-90 mineral gear oil,.....

I run Syn-oil in 75W-90 in all my drives,.....
It's the same as Merc Hi-Per. oil, without the colored dye,.....
