Hey guys, I am in the process of changing the water pump assembly on my 90’ 30 horse Johnson. That original evinrude/Johnson gasket sealing compound is the recommended stuff but it’s impossible to find. I found a thread on here stating that the Permatrex aviation form-a-gasket would work just fine. But I’m curious if the #3 permatrex seal-a-gasket stuff would work. The item number on these #3 cans are #80019 and differ from other cans of this stuff. Just wanted to make sure I didn’t order the wrong thing. Anything helps, thanks.

See if the #3 instructions tell you if it seals against water leakage, fuel, or both. Guessing it will probably work fine.

Not sure of the numbers, but if it comes in a can with a brush in the cap, that's the stuff. It works well, but I just don't like it because it is nasty, messy, black stuff to work with. But since OMC is no longer available, what'cha gonna do.
