Hi folks!
I have a 16' Boston Whaler that I am refurbishing, and just started the wet sanding of the gel coat. The problem I'm having is that there is a lot of orange peel left from the roller, and I keep going through some spots while trying to sand others. I am using a 3M guide coat, and 340 grit paper, because 400 was taking way too long. Does anybody have an ideas on how to avoid this? Also, its taking a very long time. Is there some way I could sand part way down, dewax the pits that are left, and maybe use like a trowel of some sort and fill all the little pits with another layer of gel coat?
Any Ideas are greatly appreciated.
Nate
