Does anyone have a link for or a way to purchase an operators manual for a 1957 Evinrude fastwin 18 hp model 15020?

are you collecting books or need a book to run the motor..?

visit AOMCI ask a member somebody can probably give you a link

to service your oldy you can get a copy of a 400 page + bible for Johnson and Evinrude ...they are cousins anyway

Thank you for the reply.

Not collecting manuals, I would like it for correct operation. Although a service manual may come in handy, I'm looking for the exact operator's manual. I'm looking for a download link or referral to a a way to purchase.

In reality aside from basic, tank priming choking, pull starting , proper oiling , pressure tank info, proper storage most of these manuals are very similar .

the Johnson service manual listed above is more maintenance oriented for several generations of Johnson's . I think if you plan running and more importantly ... maintaining your oldy... the Johnson "bible" is a must have.

All of my factory service manuals also give starting proceedures, so I would think the service manual would be more valuable..

Aside from the tank and hood, this 1956 12hp Viking is closely related to your 1957.18 Evinrude. Close enough that the operating instructions would be very similar, again except for the tank. And the number of ponies munching oats under the hood.

There is the Seloc Johnson/Evinrude Certified textbook for Engines from 1.5 thru 40 hp from 1956 to 1970. In spite of the bad rap that most non factory manuals usually get , this one is very precise and user friendly. I have used it for many years and it gives me everything I need for these engines

You are very lucky, I have had a few chances to use the Sealoc and Clymer and found nothing woethwhile in them for serious deep specs. For general info they were just ok...after looking at a true factory service manual, there is a big difference, including trouble shooting and detailed instructions for overhaul assembly and disassembly. But if your works for you, who am I to tell you not to use it !!

I would not touch a Clymer with a 3 yard pole, but in this case, the old Evinrude engines are so simple that usually one look at the pictures will already make things clear.
