I'm working on a boat for a young couple with a merc 90hp (serial #5996437). It ran fine when I changed the starter a couple of weeks ago which sort of surprised me since someone had hooked up the battery backwards and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't turn over. Now it comes back and it turns over real hard (I think they fried the new starter) and I can only get fire at the #1 cyl. This has seperate coils and two brain boxes with a trigger assembly under the flywheel. Problem is my book doesn't cover this style so I'm sort of at a loss as to where to start. Any suggestions or maybe where I can download the wiring diagrams or diagnostics or will I have to break down and get another manual. Thanks in advance.
