i have a newer force shift assy and wonder if it can be used for a 79 140 chrysler, it doesnt have a seperate fast idle lever, but does have a trim switch in the handle, i havent seen the chrysler setup in a while, plan on getting the motor in a week or so. just trying to get the boat set up to be ready for the motor

As long as it is NOT mercury with the different control cable ends, it will work. Anything up to about 94 will swap.

Here are some prop numbers:

The BEST, if you can find one is Chrysler 476-21 12 X 21 stainless cleaver, cupped.

Aluminum stock: 526-21 21 3/8 X 21
529-25 12 3/8 X 25
Stainless stock: 510-19 12 3/8 X 19 stainless
510-21 12 3/8 X 21 stainless

Stainless Michigan: 540-19 12 3/8 X 19 stainless cupped.
540-21 12 3/8 X 21 Stainless cupped (probable number--don't know if it is made) You may need to research Michigan numbers for equivalent.

Remember: there are other props that will work, like the other Michigan made brands. However, some of them will not fit unless you remove the circular anode from behind the prop or reduce its size. It only requires removing two screws to remove the anode.
