Man you really did get in some skinny water. I had one incident rafted with a bunch of friends, we were partying and having a good time and then realized we would be spending the night as all of our boats were sitting on bottom. So the party continued...

Life is good in the south! Went to the lake on Sunday and temps were above 85 Degrees. I was shocked to see people in the water but they didn't seem to be freezing and I saw a good number of people in the water... I usually don't venture in until June.

MMMMmmmmmm. beer. How I miss thee... About 8 more weeks and I'll be home and out on my boat. Oh, the food looks good, too. But, the beer....

Glad you could untie and stretch your legs a little out on the lake, you lucky dog.

Ah America How I love thee. The economy & debt is not doing so well right now but the beer is still great ! That was a Yuengling from America's oldest Brewery in Pottsville Pennsylvania. A fine beer that was just able to be sold in Georgia starting last year.

Gents, hope all is well and that everyone is getting their boats ready for the H2O, if you've not already launched them. It'll be another few weeks before I'm back in the States, but I'm getting excited already about getting my baby back in the water. I keep having my 10 year old son walk out into the back yard while I'm Skyping him so that I can see what my boat looks like sitting on its trailer waiting for my return..... I can tell she misses my attention. He thinks I'm nuts, of course. I'm just in love with that boat. Anyway, I always check this site, but don't always post in that I don't have much to say. It always seems that there are about 5-6 of us who do all the posting. I enjoy reading what you guys are writing, even if I don't always comment. God Speed! Summer, here we come!

I have a 2000 300sc. I'm in Jacksonville Beach, FL. I have had the boat for over a year and have not seen 1 other Doral on the water here. If anyone has a Doral in the area, let me know!

Here is a pic of my 2000 300SC docked in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida. This is about an hour cruise from my marina in Jacksonville Beach.

Nice ride, Doug! It looks so nice, I can't believe it did not come with A/C! I purchased mine in the Washington DC area. Evidently, there are a few people who own Doral Boats up there, and there is a dealership in the Tidewater Area of VA --although, I've never been visited it. Strangely, my boat has A/C, but no heat. I use a portable electric heater when it starts to get chilly in the cabin. Generally, I see no need to have heat installed. A/C, however, is a must. Anyway, very nice boat and I love the boat name!

Thanks! The boat was in upstate NY when I got it. I had it shipped down. They apparently didn't need A/C up there. The AC unit I bought has heat as well which will be nice the 1 or 2 days its cold here!

I'm installing this weekend. Should be an adventure!

Thanks again.

Doug, let me know how that installation turns out. Does not sound like it would be an east task. The rewards, however, will be glorious. What engines do you have in that thing? Have you had any issues with you boat since you've owned it? I've owned mine since '09. No major issues, really. When I bought it, the engine didn't have too many hours on it, as it was recently rebuilt/replaced. I did had to replace the trim tab motor last summer. And, I had issues with using ethynol fuel for a while. No more ethynol ful for me. I'll pay the $15 per gal at the marina to ensure my fuel is ethynol-free. That's about it for me.

Doug, how many BTU did you get. Our AC was replaced when we bought the boat (300SE) in February. They put a 12000 BTU in. We had the AC running wide open today (set at 55F), with the cabin closed except for people going in and out every now and then and the temp in the cabin was around 70F. Granted it was ~100F out with humidity above 80%.

Re: On an Island: Southern Doral Owner

The installation took a day but its in. I have an issue though with the condensate drain not draining. The way Doral has it laid out, the hose runs slightly uphill so it doesn't drain. I am trying to figure out how to resolve this. I also just posted a question about the fact the the condensate drain runs to my shower pump which goes to the grey water holding tank (my boat has the grey water option). So, I'm concerned about this as this will fill up the tank quickly. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I got a 9,000 BTU and seems to be sufficient, however, have not run it much yet due to this drain problem.

I have not had any major problems since I got the boat last year. I know there were ethenol problems before I got it and valves were replaced I think. I have 700 hours or so on it.

Ahh, great to be a Southern Doral owner. Spent the weekend out scalloping. Nice 88F water even in late September. Wife and I had a great time and now have a freezer full of Bay Scallops.
