OMC/Volvo Penta 4.3 Baseline Maintenance Checklist

Hello All,
I am the recent new owner of a 1996 Four Winns H190, ran it last summer with only minor maintenance, changed fresh water impeller, thermostat and fuel pump. This is the year to bring it up to date. Last year began to see a slight oil sheen behind the boat on the last day out checked outdrive and it doesn't appear to be leaking externally when out of the water. I am thinking possible U-joint bellow? I have done much reading through manuals and this website but need some specific assistance over hoses and lower drive unit. Any other advice is appreciated. I apologize for the lengthy first post, I spent most of my life in engineering before I decided that I wanted to follow my childhood dream and become a fireman.

Those are OMC numbers. OMC and Volvo were in a joint venture in 94 through 98. Each sold under their own names, but the engines and drives were "Basically" the same. Not exact, but almost.
So I have moved this over to the OMC section.

Might want to check your part numbers with the BRP site to verify.

I would also suggest you stick with the OEM AC MR43LTS spark plugs and forget the champions.

Thank you Don for the spark plug recommendation, ordered the AC's yesterday. So far I had some luck in cross referencing in the BRP catalog and was able to sort out my hose part number problem.

I still need assistance finding the main drive belt part number and the seals necessary to replace to properly seal lower unit after gimball replacement.
