Hey guys, just acquired a 6 gallon Omc metal fuel tank, going to restore it,but uncertain on the color,it's from the late 60's-70's who makes a spray paint that would be the same or close enough color? Know vintage outboard paint has it but it's pricey.

The local CarQuest outlet in my town does pretty good paint matching. Large can is $12-$15, as I recall -- would clean up a spot on the can, and bring it in.

I would avoid a rattle can and simply get a $15 spray gun from harbor freight and used hardened enamel

Ok, but that still doesn't answer my initial question, what color? I've read others have used Ford red from the 50's
