OMC 260 Stringer Stern Drive??

Where could I find this OMC 260 Stringer Manual online? Any idea anyone? Would be appreciated thanks. Also looking ID exactly what I have here. Boat is in operable and unable to power up currently. Is this electric shift? Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

OMC 350 Engine MODEL #260SPHRCIF Serial #J724676 - Guessing year 1977 to 1980.

OMC Sterndrive MODEL 882462 Serial # W249091 - 1.41:1 ratio - Guessing year 1977 to 1980
Are these durable drives or are they terrible like I hear??? Found water in lower and upper gear case. So off to the races…….

Agree to disagree on that. Mechanical units were 1981-1985, silver in color and had a different pickup. Hydro-mechanical shifts were 1978-1980, white in color, and have the pickup as shown in the pics

The last year for electric shift OMC sterndrive was 1977.-----The Hydro-Electric system ( per post #4 ) was never used on OMC sterndrives !!

I can remember late 70s OMC school in Miami working on the 800 with hydro shift. They should have stayed with it. All the switches and shift interruption caused more headaches. The Cobra would have much better with the hydro system.

I also think if OMC would have perfected the hydro system with just a mercruiser style interruption system there would have been less problems.
