Russia may not get the gold in team figure skating ... one of the male contenders tested positive for banned drugs. The mediation needs to play out, but it might be the US who gets the gold and Canada would then be bumped up to the bronze ... we are waiting ...

Men's Ice Hockey has started ... ROC beat the Swiss 1-0 and currently Denmark leads the Czek Republic 2-1 in the 3rd period ...

Some have issues with athletes competing for a country when they are a citizen of " convenience " for that country.-------I have no issues with the " Jamaican " bob sled team.------Remember " eddy the eagle " in 1988 ?-----Most folks remember that ski jumper.-----Nobody remember who won gold that year.
I was looking at the comments about that Chinese/American figure skater who did poorly. I felt bad for the poor kid, but a lot of people were saying some very extremely derogatory things about her...shameful if you ask me.

There are----" handlers " ----For these athletes.-----It said that hockey players were separated from media.-----Folks might get upset since few speak Chinese.

There is no typist these days.------Something called ----AI ( artificial intelligence ) ----is responsible for that spelling I think.
Then they need to come up with AAI. Australian Artificial Intelligence. ๐Ÿค”

Nathan Chen brings it for the men's figure skating, winning gold by a wide margin.

The US Men's Hockey team started out against China this morning. They had a sluggish start as China was into being goons instead of skating and playing hockey. Once the US got settled into how China was attacking it was game over. 1-0 at the end of the first period, 8-0 at the end of the game.

Cool seeing Shaun White make his final runs. Finished 4th. Seems to be a great guy. He was very emotional afterwards knowing it was the end of his snowboarding career at 35......

Shiffrin skied in the Super G. Huge victory making it down the hill after her previous 2 spills. 1st time skiing in competition for that event. Last I saw she was 10th..

CORRECTION: Shiffrin finished 9th.

White transformed himself from the flamboyant, reckless, punk who was accused and apologized for sexual assault with an assistant to the person we saw yesterday. He grew up but didn't grow boring or out of his big personality. Good for him and nice to see him go out the way he did ... just a shame he missed the podium.

Yeah, I watched it and am paying for it this morning ... have a funeral to do shortly ... Canada jumped out to a fast start, but the US skaters out skated and handled the puck better than their northern counterparts the last half of the 1st period to take a 2-1 advantage into the second. The US scored quickly to go up 3-1, but then both teams settled in and the Canadians started attacking. Skating and puck handling was about equal. The US gave up a short handed goal before closing out the second period with a 3-2 advantage. In the 3rd, both teams played hard and fast with the US putting the 2 goal advantage in the net. The Canadians hit the crossbar a number of times. On 2 occasions the puck bounced off the top upright into the back of the US goalie. The US was fortunate to come away with the 4-2 victory. Both teams played a fast and good game.

I was awarded a trophy years ago in hockey.----Most sportsman like player and I played defense.-----.Today I say if I was the referee in some NHL games there would be no one left to play the game after 10 minutes.-----I often said it too.-----Players get a 2 minute penalty doing things on the ice.----If you did some of that on the main street you would be in jail !

Beijing Has been making snow since the Games began using snow cannons which are water and power hogs. Overnight a dusting of real snow arrived.

Yanqing and Zhangjiakou got heavy overnight snow delaying day 9 events.

When it rains it pours.

I have no idea what is live or taped. Would it be too much to put live or pre-recorded in a corner?

I've been watching some nights. Ya, really like the speed sports that don't rely too much on judging - skeleton is siiiick!

The kid that laid-down a really great super-pipe run on a snowboard (Japan?) seemed to get 'robbed'.

Ya, the hosting country doesn't seem to care they don't have enough water for the people that actually live there - but snowmaking for what is becoming more-and-more, a PR event - do whatever you have to...
