Re: Old Yukon Delta with a Retro Homelite 55 - Could use any help..
Thanks jbcurt. My mistake. Davidwis, that's cool and I gotta hand it to you for being in touch with your post after so long. I like the idea of a trailerable house boat. Dunno about a roof. I have a small tri hull and I built a little enclosure on it, with a slanted roof that also curves down over the sides. There is a slight overhang for the water to drip off of all the way around the roof. The water just drains off quickly, and even though no weather seals are on it since the whole thing slides aft, no water is getting in even on the Pacific Ocean with the associated spray during running. The point is, you could maybe have a variation of the slant and curve, maybe a subtle version of it and not so exaggerated like what's on my enclosure, for rain drainage or something.
The roof of this was made with plywood panels and there are stringers on the interior running lengthwise at the joints between the panels. Then there are three ribs going across for added rigidy. I layed the panels out the way I wanted them and supported them in position with camera tripods, then glassed the stringers and ribs to it. The cross ribs of the roof were made in two pieces, conforming to the tops and sides for each side leaving a small gapin the center top, to which I then glassed a joining sandwich of plywood to the two pieces. This made it much easier to get the width correct instead of having to cut one entire piece out that had to conform exactly to the width of the enclosure. An abbreviated post of the enclosure build is at:

Good luck with her.
