Sounds right to me.
just did the same with a 63' 10hp . bulletproof.Just picked up a 1962 and a 1964 model 5.5 HP Johnson.------Both are very low hour motors.----Will run like new again with a bit of work.-----These are just wonderful motors with little or no plastic on them.-----But if you have to run to a shop for repairs you will be shocked with their attitude and invoices.
Actually,that is not a joke at all.So would you have to buy a new one
Same goes for properly maintained Snow blowers / Lawnmowers (maybe not) ChainsawsActually, that is not a joke at all.
The problem for all the outboard manufacturers was that once a customer bought an outboard he usually was set for life.
