Hello guys,
I have 21' Welcraft bowrider 1996. The boat is still in great shape. I did the transom last year, all electronics are new and I also changed all interior leather last year. My engine still has less than 360 hr on it.

One thing I hate is the old look. You know, that off white color on the topside. Also, I changed my interior to white/red but the sides are still white/green so I need to repaint the greens.

I still haven't decided if I wanna paint it or put a wrap on it. I'm not too worried about it as long as I get rid of the old look for the while parts.
I researched a bit and what most people think would work is to wet sand it with +1500 sand paper then polish and wax.
Do you guys agree or do you have other suggestions?

Please let me know.

Thank you. :)

Re: Old Looking Hull

There is another thread like this :)
I am sure there are lot of detailers here that will chime in . I have a another suggestion. I used buff magic and then their polish. It worked very well to remove oxidation and stains from my hull.

The Buff Magic is put on with a paint brush in a small area and you use an small buffer to rub it down. The compound breaks down to smaller and smaller particles as you rub it out. you wife off the excess then wife on their polish.

It really brought back my 11 year old hull to new looking.

try polishing first before you sand. maybe 3M finnesit (sp) or any other fine finishing compound.
