2002 3 cyl 50 hp nissan,

my motor is not running right and there is an oily residue that appears to be comming from under the flywheel. Any ideas as to where this could be coming from?

How prone are these motors to having a oil injection problem? This is something that has worried me since it was new. Bunch of people have advised me to mix my own oil. How much of an issue is it to dissconnect and mix you own.

This model was just before the TLDI.

Thanks,

No one pulls the system off as it does not give problems and it would be very foolish to do so. You would almost certainly have a upper main oil seal problem which would have nothing to do with the oil injection system.

Thanks Guru,

I could not believe the amount of people that say as soon as they buy an oil injected motor they convert it. Of course I have never had one burn up either.

You have to pull the powerhead apart to get to the top o-ring on the crankshaft.
