oil substition

I apologize in advance if this was already covered, but my dealer recommends I use Volvo-Penta oil/filter for my boat. Is there something cheaper that will work as good. The Volvo-Penta is $16/quart! Anything I can pick up at like Auto-zone or Kragen?
I have a 2008 Larson 180 sport.
