I want to check the condition of the oil injection pump on my 90hp 2000 model 2 str. See photo attached. At the lower part see the red arrow pointing to where I think is the pump. Looks like it is mounted on a plastic spacer Is that correct?
Oil Injection on 2 cycle carb or EFI outboard engines is done justbefore the fuel hits the carbs or injectors. Trace your fuel line out of the fuel pump, and before it gets to the carbs, you should see a tee, where the oil is pumped into the fuel line containing gasoline.

thanks for that link. My main interest is to get to that gear #18 to see how its wear looks. If it looks worn then I will just block off the pump and start using premix like the old days. Problem is that it does not look like its easy to get access to that pump.
#18 is usually driven by a gear on the crankshaft. I do not know if they are removeable. Also, on some models, the crankshaft gear is plastic, and subject to damage. I am not sure what your model has.
