I have an 85 hp evinrude that I have been having issues with the power trim. I purchased a new motor but when I hooked it up the trim still does not work. The electric motor works fine but it connects to a hyraulic oil pump, correct? I tried to spin the pump manually with a screwdriver but it is frozen. Is it possible to rebuild these, if not, where is the cheapest place to find one? What is the proper name for this pump?

You might tell us what year motor. Also, when the new motor is installed into the PTT unit, does it spin or not.

What is the model number of that 85hp? We have no idea what year it might be.

Is the PTT unit one that fits between the transom brackets OR do are lift rams outside of the transom brackets?

It is a 1979 evinrude model no 85999. The pump sits between the brackets. The electric pump spins only when it is off the assembly. I tried to turn the pump. When attached you can hear it try, but no luck.
