lexx<br /><br />properly maintained gear oil will not be black, but if your motor is not being serviced properly the oil will turn black.you either have a leaky seal in your gear case or this is unburned fuel \oil draining down the chamber, you would only expect to see this if your motor was not running well example on two cylinders.drian your gear case oil in a clean pan check for water, metal, shavings and color of oil,if you find the gear case to be the problem it will have to be resealed good luck bret
