Hi All,
This may be a dumb question, but it has been bothering me. I recently rebuilt the carb, did a full tune up and changed out the Impeller on my 1965 evinrude 9.5hp out board. I ran it in a 30 gallon container the other day. It was running for about 3-5 minutes. The question is, when I was done running it, the water in the container was slimey and smelled of oil. when I drained the container there was actually a ring of oil around the inside rim. The only leak I found was very small and where the fuel line from the gas tank connects to the port in the motor. That doesnt seem like it would be enough to cause that much oil in the water. Is it normal to have that kind of oil in the container after running for just a few minutes?
Thanks,
joel
