oil change for 2005 johnson 115 4-stroke efi

Just bought this motor. How do I get to the oil filter??? Also, what oil do I use ? where can I get a shop manual for this motor. Thanks in advance.

how many hours on motor,if not alot used stanard 10w30 motor oil.might want to johnson 4-stroke oil & filter for the for the first change.you have to remove the side cowling to get to filter.get the shop manual from dealer they are nice manuals....................

10W-40 is the oil viscosity for the Johnson 4-strokes.

For best results use a 4-cycle outboard oil that is FC-W certified. All the major manufacturers sell it as well as Pennzoil, Amsoil, Sierra, etc.

Agreed, us a FC -W oil, it is designed to handle moisture better, which outboards are more prone to.
