Oil Capacity lower unit Johnson 35?

Did lower unit oil change and pumped only 8oz before it bubbled out the top. Is that about right for a 35 Johnson?

10 TO 22 OZ DEPENDING ON YEAR.

35 1957-1959 14
35 1976-1982 10
35 1983-1984 11
35 (45 Cu. In./737 CC) 1987 22

Doesn't look like 8 oz. is right for any 35, although not too far off '76-'82.
