statistics are just as good as the people who make them up. most of these groups are politically funded so whats to say they're not bias. i say the numbers are just as crooked as the politicians are who can we trust

Hey all you Ohioans......move down here to the south like I did. It's warmer here, there is no snowfall to speak of, and you can boat almost year round. Plus, we still don't have a lot of the silly Ohio laws either. George Voinovich did a great job but you guys need to get rid of Taft! After living my entire life in Ohio, I kick myself for not making the move sooner......plus you can still follow Ohio State, the Browns and the Bengals here too if you want!

My stand on all of this, as a non smoker, is let the smokers smoke all they want!!!!!!! Just make sure that in public places non-smokers don't have to be subjected to their second hand smoke!!!! I don't think a total ban is in order but it's typical beauracratic BS that will probably win out on this one.

Re: Ohio Smokers Beware

I am a smoker in a city that has gone non smoking. I have no problem with restrictng my second hand smoke to others and I don't smoke around non smokers. My problem is with our local university and our local hospital ,at both places you must go right off the property to smoke . At the university you can smoke in your car but they will bust you if you get out of your car with a butt and at the hospital you cannot smoke anywhere on the property. These are both big properties and it is a long hike to the bushes and our usual cold winter is coming . I must say that both of those places will not be getting my annual donation when they call for funds .Like I said , I have no problem going outside , but banishing me off the property is too much . It is interesting to note that in the province of Manitoba the casino has had to lay off a number of staff after the smokers stopped coming . We are waiting for businesses to feel the effects here.

Wheres it all going to stop??!! I can't see how our federal, state, and local governments can tell a "PRIVATELY" owned buisness how to run their buisness. Yes the gov. has the right to make sure your not selling rotten food, But to tell a tax paying buisness you canot allow smoking in your place of buisness. It should be up to the buisness owner as to if he will alow smoking or not. If smoke offends you don't go, Go to a smoke free place if one is offered.

It seems like I heard on the news a while back that a section of beach in South California are smoke free because of the butts. Well if thats the case nothing at all should be allowed on the beach at all.

Our rights are being taken away.

If it passes they can rename the state SLOHIO. Just imagine.....we pay these morons salaries and elect them to jobs where they abuse their employers. US. I smoke, but I respect those that do not. A smoke free state?? Are there not bigger issues to deal with? Health Care, Crime, and the ever popular terrorism. New Slogan for OHIO. " Gateway to Pennsylvania "
