Starman, that link works now but it won't in an hour due to the forum picture glitch. Click the Go Advance button when posting to get around it.

Re: Official Starcraft Rubrail Thread

My red rub rail looked kind of hopeless so I bypassed any effort on it. Thanks for the update on that & let us know if you have any future success. Too bad it keeps getting ugly, those red ones look sharp.

I used a vinyl paint on my black rub rails. looks OK for now. Got it at Napa Auto.

Not concerned about the link. Remember my 79 was grey and RED, and the rub rails were a faded red, PINK.

I have applied KIWI black over and over since I got the vessel 12 months ago. It works, the more you apply it.

By the way, the initial application was after a 120 grit light sanding first.

Thanks for the heads up Dave. I'm glad you were able to score yours so cheap buddy!

Makes sense why my dealer was looking to charge so much now.

Hi & welcome. I may be wrong, but I believe all you can get now is black - if you're lucky.

This might be helpful if you need dimensions or are looking for a substitute or an alternate source:

RE: STR35700046.....Can anyone supply a sample or contact info to obtain one for for test fit? This would make a great winter project. I went the Taco route and got something "close???". A little dock rub on a hot day and it's out of the channel.....very frustrating. Great post....Thanks.

E Bay just listed what looks like ORIGINAL design rub rail white! Greatlakeskipper is vendor. $33/10 foot length.
The length is too short for most of our boats but a joint might be a willing compromise for original rub rail.

Re: Official Starcraft Rubrail Thread

If you can get any samples and try out the fit, that would be a great help to a lot of the refurbishers around here. Those prices are pretty low, and a color selection to boot. The high cost was the main reason I was very hesitant to order any before I was 100% sure it was going to fit.

End Caps for the lower rub rails.

Here is the manufacturer and part number that Starcraft used for the end caps on the lower rub rails.
Attwood :End Cap Chrome Plated Zamak # 9462
I purchased mine from BarginBoatParts.com and their stock number is 40151 for the Attwood #9462
Before installing spray them top and underside with Auto paint clear coat to keep them from pitting later

Re: Official Starcraft Rubrail Thread

The Wefco Rubber 0101G is an almost exact match for the Jet and Jet Star rub rail.

0101G is a good profile, but measuring the image at a 100% view of the pdf, it is approx. 1-7/16" wide. If you print out the pdf at 100% size and measure it, it is 1-1/16" wide. At the bottom of the page it says that all the profiles are actual size + or - 4%.

So you need a sample or the actual measurements, to be sure. I needed 1-1/16 wide for my channel. I don't know if all the channels are the same?
