Well, for those of you who watched it last night - what do you think? I can now remember why I was glued to my television last fall.

Did anyone notice that the guy in the end was actually the austrailian guy who was running the stairs earlier in the show?

Also, did anyone notice that the "Numbers" were on the bottles that the crazy dude was using to inject himself?

AND, did anyone notice that the time of death of the guy in the emergency room was 8:15 - the same as the flight number that crashed?!

Sean

Wow Sean you really did pay attention! I did notice the hatch dude from the stadium, matter of fact, I had a hunch that it was going to be him. I didn't see the number on the bottle, what was it anyway? steroid? and where did he get fresh eggs? what's with the DOS promt? where's Kate? I can't wait, is it next Wednesday already? I didn't notice the significant of the 8:15, was distracted by the girlfriend on the phone. I thought there was going to be colony of extraterestial/experimental type of being living underground and the hatch is just an entrance. I didn't expected to see an underground lair completed with record player, blender, etc..

Yeah no kidding - he had electricity and the whole shabang! I am not sure what the DOS prompt was about, it was a bit odd. Something weird is in the air, but hey - the whole show is about somethign "weird" in the air. It seemed as though Locke was "friendly" with the guy holding the gun - so I'm wondering if he is actually friendly, just not sure what Jack was doing in his refuge. It will be interesting to see what all that equipment was for.

Sean

Re: "Official" Lost Season 2 Discussion Thread - Avoid this if you hav

This show does a good job of frustrating me, while making me want to watch the next episode just out of half-hearted curiosity. I watched several of the first episodes last season with keen interest and excitement, but then I had to miss the rest of the season because I was busy. After watching the recap, I realized I didn't miss much of anything because almost nothing gets answered in each episode and I didn't really learn anything new about the characters. It's kinda like the twilight zone, but without the smart answers or smart reasons for things that happened. Must be fun being the writers without any parameters to adhere to or having to worry about answering things. I think the reason the actors don't know what is going to happen next is because the writers don't either. Maybe I'm too much like Dr. Sheppard, "science guy", and not enough like Locke, "faith guy". I think Locke is a dynamic character though, I really like him a lot. I like the fact that the island seems to be forcing hidden abilities upon people that couldn't achieve in their previous lives. I also agree with you eeboater, that the orchestrated music is really great. I'm going to try and be the "hopeful guy" and continue watch this season's episodes for awhile. The show really needs a few smart answers to a few things while it continues it's relentless piling up of the "whys". It's fun to get really lost, but the best part is finding your way out of being lost. I'm not sure the show will deliver that even partially or even if that's their goal or even if they have a goal. I know I sound like I hate the show, but I don't. I think the show has a lot of potential to be really cool, but it hasn't made it to that level... yet. If what it has been is all it ever becomes, then I'll look back and I'll have to start agreeing with Chief on this one. ;) Right now, I'm going to stay excited and curious to watch the next episode because I'm "hopeful" and... there's a lot less to do in winter than there is in summer! :)

By the way, the opening of season II was cool. I couldn't figure out what was happening... was it a commercial? was I on the wrong channel, what's with that cheezy music? Is it a flashback of someone? who? nah, couldn't be the rich kid, could it? It's not Jack, is it? Can't be the Sawyer, right? Then, hearing the hatch blow from inside and making the connection... That was done very well!

I found something else to do after the hour long suck fest of what happened last season. Just a cheap cop out by the producer to build us up for a 2 hour "season premier" with only an hour of new stuff.

I think the show story line is sinking fast. I can't stand the constant flashbacks. They have taken an idea that could have been done in a two hour movie and stretched it out into an extention of the daytime soaps.

In short... it sucks! I gotta listen to it cause herself has to watch it. I do get a laugh out of hearing her frustration at the slowness of the story. She watches the soaps too, could be why she likes LOST.

GIVE ME 24!

Didn't notice the numbers on the injection bottle. Nice catch.

I felt like I got a nibble of the cookie last night instead of just crumbs like last year.

Looks like this is the year for si-fi intrigue. Hopefully some of those reality shows will go away.

Now, on Days of Our Lives, Mimi is unable to get Caroline's wedding dress off and Chelsea runs into Max.

Well, I like the show - so, I'm going to use this thread for what it was intended for, to discuss Season 2 - not to b*tch about it.

Sean

Sean, I still love it. But they need to answer some questions REAL FAST, or everyone will feel like these guys on here.
It'll be interesting if we actually find out the "fate" of the raft guys or not, next week.

I caught the numbers on the bottle, but noticed specifically that there was not name of the medicine. My wife asked insatntly, where'd he get fresh fruit.

Keep in mind folks, the decore of that place, and the computers place it's construction in what, late 70's early 80's? Well even if Jack is 40, he met that guy in the stadium, max 12 years ago. So that guy cannot be the first resident.

Seriously, everyone's been to or on this island, except a rescue crew!!!

You're good, I didn't catch any of that stuff. :D I love the show but I'm getting tired of how long they're dragging things out. Their promos keep saying things like "find out whats in the hatch next week", but then they only show you a crazy guy that lives down there and don't explain anything!

I wish I would have never watched the first season, then get it all on DVD and watch the entire thing at once. Much less stressful. :D

Original quote by TilliamWe
"Keep in mind folks, the decore of that place, and the computers place it's construction in what, late 70's early 80's?"
*************
That's an interesting point! As ya'll know, "anything goes" in Lost, but with all that 70's stuff that cave dweller guy has, you'd think the writers were hinting that the guy has been on the island ever since that time. But, you would think the previous meeting in the states between that guy and Jack would debunk that theory.

That first scene is wayyyy out in left field, so it will be real interesting to see how they tie it into the show. Really, I have no idea because as I said, "anything goes".

Don't know about the power. Where did the Polar Bears and wild pigs go?
This sorta reminds me of show called "John Doe" a neat concept but no real story line and the writers couldn't keep it together and it got poofed! ;)
Guess we can keep EE's thread going until Lost gets Poofed or LOST :D

And what about that giant monster that was eating people right and left? Did they think we'd just forget about that?

I wonder what kind of plants you have to smoke to write stuff like this... :D

They addressed that. It the "smoke" you saw in the second to last episode in season one. And Locke says to Kate, I just got pulled into a hole by a black cloud of smoke. I am not saying it makes any sense, but that's yer monster right there. It'll be more explained in this season, I hope.

The pigs just moved on, didn't like Locke stabbing them. Not sure where the polar bears are. Maybe on the other side of the island, at Sea World????
