I purchased what is supposed to be OEM color Yamalube 08D "Dark Bluish Gray" It is surely NOT an exact color match.I dont know where the "bluish" part comes in because the motor is graphite gray..I see 2 colors available 08D and 04D .Anyone know the correct code?? my motor is a year 2000 Saltwater series 200hp.I was thinking of bringing my motor cover into the auto supply store and match up some auto paint but that motor cover is freakin heavy..lol Anyone know codes or have luck matching?? What is the complete model of the motor? What is the precise part that you want to paint?

On a 26 year old motor it is going to be tough to come up with a new paint that matches worn and faded paint.

The vent on the motor cover is badly faded so I want to sand and refinish it with aerosol. The "bluish" is what is throwing me off.I used 08D and its nice paint but the color had a blue tint which I dont believe this motor ever had.

If this is what you are trying to paint, it shows as 4D

Part Number: 64D-42613-00-4D (Superseded to 64D-42613-00-8D). Guess they are both the same color....
