...HOSE A... :D
yep, WingerEd, you really do need one of those heat exhchangers. They just make you feel good knowing your operating temp is up where it should be and that you're not pumping your engine full of sand when you run over that sandbar.

..

Yes sir. I do envy you for having that closed loop cooling system. I sure wish I did on my winter boat.....not that it would help with the sand thing though.

I figure if I run over a sand bar at speed, a little bit of it mixed in with cooling water is the least of my problems.

What I worry about is that when I take the boat out----- to give Bible study classes with unwed NFL Cheerleaders like I do----

I'll forget to pull the plugs and drain the engine & manifolds after I come in. All that fresh water trapped in there until our next class just rots all them cast iron parts.

That gives me another idea, WE. When I put all the hoses back on, I'll get some of those radiator flush adaptors, with the screw on caps, and install them on the hoses that feed the exh. manifold water jackets. When the boat is stored on the trailer, I can just unscrew the caps and pour a few ounces of anti freeze into each manifold. Bingo, no rust, no pulling off hoses or drain plugs. And no rusty water splattered all over the girls!
