Nobody fishing?

I love it fried but it pretty good on the grill as well. Thinking about it been a long time since I had it either way.

A couple of fish taco places out here serve fried gator street tacos. Pretty good. Not as good as al pastor, though, but just as spicy.

I agree, gator tastes like chicken. Didn't notice the fishy taste. Thumbs up for me...
Why not just eat chicken? Because it's way cooler to say I eat gator....

I've never fished Mille Lacs on soft water, always through the ice and never a bite. The card playing and beer drinking is usually top notch.

Where to?

My fishing group went there three years ago. We float fished on the Kenai River, hiked up a mountain for greyling, and charter fished out of Seward. Great memories, lots of fish, lots of bears.

We fly into Anchorage and then head to Soldotna on the Kenai river where we will stay for the week. Evenings we will fish the Kenai where we are staying. During the day, our Itinerary will look like this:
Day 1: Fish the upper Kenai River for trophy trout and greyling
Day 2: Float plane flyout to Wolverine Creek and fish remote wilderness area
Day 3: Fish out of Homer for Halibut and other species
Day 4: Float the Kasilof River for Salmon
Day5: Fish the lower Kenai for Salmon)
Day 6: Canoe the Swan Lake system of lakes and fish along the way

I've never fished Mille Lacs on soft water, always through the ice and never a bite. The card playing and beer drinking is usually top notch.

Water surface temperature is 78 degrees so the fish were not real active. The bass were not interested but we did manage to catch several not slot fish. I did get to keep 1 20" walleye.

I splashed the boat last evening for the first time this summer! Ugh! Wife and I got out on the water and cruised a bit. Stopped and ate our picnic supper. I started to fish when my cousin (single never married in her 70's, I am closest relative) texted me that she had fallen. Pack the boat up and pick her up to take her to ER. Ankle no broken, but severely sprained. End of yesterday's fishing. But the boat was working great!

i still have not been out yet. Shooting for next week but monday have a new breaker box going in and then more dam weather.

most phones have a do not disturb setting but will allow you to input who can break that barrier. We have that set of for our 80 plus year old parents, my bother and wifes sisters for after hours calls. Otherwise, nothing gets thru.

Me too. I turn mine off if noise factors into what I am doing. I remember when you couldn’t get called unless you were home or at work. We got along just fine.

That sounds great. Half of our group went up to Homer and caught Halibut. I was in the group that went fishing out of Seward. We caught ling cod, tons of salmon, some other fish that I can't remember, and saw tons of whales doing their bubble net feeding. Cool place.

I would LOVE to be there for a winter.
