I recently bought a 1993 Bass Tracker Pro 17 with a 40 HP Evinrude
Model Number TE40ELETB. It started when I bought it, although the throttle linkage was broken. Today I installed the new one, and replaced the stereo. After completing the install I thought I should check switched, bilge pump, aerator and nav lights. Nothing worked...I found a blown 25 amp fuse near the battery, replaced it and all was well again. I thought I'd hit the starter to make sure the engine cranked. It didn't. All of the accessories were still working and the fuse was still good. The engine was on a transom saver at the time. I double checked the fuses and they were all good. Is there a hidden fuse I missed? Is there a kill switch when the engine is on the transom saver?

Any help would be appreciated.

Is the Lanyard Connected properly? also, there is a fuse on the motor near the "Big Red Plug" in a small little boot in the wiring harness, have you checked it?

Re: No spark to engine

I did find the blown 25 amp fuse in the stern and replaced it (before posting the question). Without the safety lanyard the motor will crank but not start. Now the starter will not even engage. I'll recheck the fuses and wiring later today, hopefully I accidentally disconnected something.
